So, we got an S8 (Kona) with the Parquet Twist floor tool, the 228, and that flexible crevice tool. Bought from our local distributor because you said so :)
THANKS VACUUM DUDE!!!!!

from segfaultxr7
Thanks again for the advice! I picked up a Salsa today, it's freaking great. Definitely what I should have bought in the first place. I love the quietness, features, attention to detail, using the attachments without it toppling over every 10 seconds, etc.

from Mrs_Chips
Hi! Thanks for the AMA! Last spring we upgraded from a Hoover Telios to this Miele. The Hoover just wasn't doing the job on our carpets.

from Dohabee
I bought a Miele after your last ama. Excellent recommendation, best vacuum cleaner I have ever had.

from [deleted]
Just wanted to say thanks. Not only was your AMA really interesting and funny, but you really got me thinking about vacuums. I have a 6 month old baby at home, and now that he is trying to crawl places I realized it was time to invest in getting our apartment cleaner (pet hair and pet hair and more pet hair and a seemingly endless amount of dust).
Ended up getting a Miele Titan and really like it. The guys at the store I went to (Best Vacuum in Chicago) knew about your AMA when I brought it up. Thought that was funny.
Thanks again! b_f

from joanish
Thank you for your AMA! I bought a miele vacuum and absolutely love it. Such a nice upgrade from the ever popular Dyson we had that was all look and no function.
Thanks again!

from NosajReddit
I just wanted to thank you so much for your AMA.
Had I not read your AMA, I would have almost certainly have bought a bagless vacuum on Amazon. Instead, I paid a visit to my local vacuum dealer's place and ended up with a Miele S194 Quickstep. You earned him that sale! I'm still evaluating it, but so far I'm thrilled about the purchase, and it seems like a truly superior product.
Thanks again for educating the masses about vacuums!

from kde01
It's not much...but the new Miele Olympus i received in the mail today is the best vacuum I've ever owned, and I owe that to you!
I thought i had cleaned my new place well when we moved in but here i am, two weeks later, with a full bag of dust and hair that the Miele removed. The Dyson didn't clean a damn thing...
You never really know how dirty your floors are until you use a Miele (TM).

from oniiesu
I just wanted to thank you so much for your last AMA. You convinced me to put the money into a Miele canister vacuum and it's honestly the best machine I have ever used. It has amazing suction, cleans all areas of my house, and is so quiet that no only can I hold a conversation when it's in use, but it doesn't scare my dog into a barking frenzy.

best

from valhallasage
I'm a little late here but I bought a Miele canister vac based on your recommendations from that last thread and just wanted to say thank you. It's by far the best vacuum I've ever owned.

I have a Miele . Best vacuum ever !!!!!from frenchness via /r/IAmA/ sent 2 months ago
Dude! I missed you but I hope you see this. Thanks to you, I bought a Miele Canister vacuum (I actually looked up the AMA while at the store). Best purchase I've ever made. My wife had gotten a dirt devil and I couldn't bear any longer with that terrible vacuum.

from IAmVeryStupid
I bought a Miele S6270 Quartz inspired by your AMA and it is the envy of all my friends. The ladies love it. I'm not even kidding.

from Variability
You're the reason why I went out and bought a Miele. Miele S4212 with an extra 10 year warranty promotion; it's honestly the best vacuum my family has ever used, and it's so compact and quiet.

from zedshadows
I got a miele because of you! Best vacuum ever!

from tbeal1
Can confirm. Bought a Miele canister vac after that.
Best vacuum I've ever bought.

from stokessd
I bought a Miele cat and dog. It changed my life. Upgraded to the better beater head too. Vacuuming now gives me a chubby.
Thank you vacuum cleaner man!!! I read every word of your ama's

I bought a Miele after your last ama. Excellent recommendation, best vacuum cleaner I have ever had.

from Pan_troglodytes
I sold my Dyson and went out and bought a Miele after reading that AMA. It's been f-ing awesome and has improved the quality of life for my asthmatic daughter and wife hugely.

from benjamintheawful
Did you do the vacuum repairman AMA about 12 months ago? If so thanks. I bought a Miele because of that, best thing I have ever bought for my house. Thanks.

from shikax
So bit the bullet. I'm getting the capri for myself (thats the one i got a good deal on, no thick carpeting so won't be a problem) and the S8 Fresh Air for the future wife. It's going to be her Valentines gift lol. Why get flowers that last a week when she can have something that'll last forever.

from Rideyourownride
Bought a Dog and Cat upright today - picked the brand based on your recommendation. Picked the upright cause I liked it. The Dyson Animal had three warranty fixes over 2 years. Was about to call Dyson and decided I was done. The Miele really cleaned today - even the air in the house was better. (Own two basset hounds who shed continuously - mix of bare floor and carpet).

from Kevin1985
Hey, thanks for your guidance in the reddit-sphere for vacuum seekers. With your advice, and a few others on the vacuum subreddit (blows my mind this exists), I pulled the trigger on a Miele c2 Onyx last night, upgrading from a decent Dyson stick vac that just doesn't get the job done. I am honestly shocked to feel so much anticipation over the delivery of a vacuum... Anyways, can't wait to try it out--German engineering, woo!
Thanks,

from bvanderhaar
Does Amazon have OK prices on Miele's (specifically S8390)? I just ordered this model based on your advice, but do want to make sure I'm getting an OK deal.

from oxemoron
Hey guy, just wanted to let you know I bought a Miele (S6270 Onyx) based on your AMAs, and some follow-up research on my part. I also talked to a coworker about it and showed him the AMAs, to which he eventually bought an S2 model. Thanks for making me (and many others) give a lot more thought to what we clean our house with!

Just wanted to say, you inspired me to buy a Miele. That thing freaking sucks... well.

Also checking in to rave about my new Miele canister. I finally convinced my wife that spending $450 once was better than spending $200 every two years (you wouldn't think it would be hard...)
I told her I did exhaustive research, but mostly it was your two IAMAs and a few cursory searches. Thanks for making the process easy!

Hey! I bought a Miele S8 HomeCare today based what you said in your AMAs. That's it - just wanted to say thanks!

from Bafflepitch
Went to the local Miele distributor, which is a sewing machine shop / vacuum store. They only had a few machines on display, but a bunch in box.
The only one with the powered head on display was an S5481 Earth. They said it was discontinued and they needed to sell the display model. Said I would still get the normal warranty. I've never bought a display model before, though.
They gave me the vacuum, new SEB236 powerhead, new SBB300, bags, and filters for $600. Was this a good deal? It's not a model I was familiar with, but it only has some scratches on it. Everything, wheels and all, appear fine and functioning.

from aliendude5300
Hey, I just bought a used "fully serviced and cleaned" Miele S558 after reading your AMA and seeing your recommendation for their canisters. I'm about to be a new college grad, and I wanted something solid to clean my new studio apartment that'll last me quite a while. Was this a good choice? Is there anything I should know about this model? Thanks

I'm so glad positive things are happening for you! These companies should really be paying you some sort of royalty for all the business you have sent to them. I just bought a Miele a couple weeks ago because of all the advice you've given around these parts.

Just bought a Miele C3 Kona yesterday. I went in to Decide whether to to get the Riccar Pristine, or a Miele. I was looking at the Pristine, and it seemed so cheap. Its weird. If anything, I always pictures the Miele being the 'cheaper' feeling one (if one HAD to feel cheap). The owner was there and we got to talking. He was ready to give me the Riccar Pristine for $400, the Miele Homecare for $800, or the Kona for $600. I couldnt believe how good of a deal he was willing to give me, especially since the Homecare (SEB236) was going for $1100, Kona for $930, and the Riccar for $1000. I ended up with the Kona.

from Sprahket
That's awesome!! I actually bought a Miele Topaz based on your recommendation just a couple of weeks ago. I did lots of research and was convinced it sounded like a good investment. I was so fed up with cheap stinky vacuums. I'm a veterinarian, so I always live with lots of animals. Currently, we have 6 cats and 3 dogs (and one of the dogs is an Irish Wolfhound who can't help but track in lots of dirt).
So far, I'm absolutely thrilled with it! Our house is mostly hardwood, but the bedrooms are carpet (though I'm hoping to get rid of carpet soon). So glad I went for a model with the electrobrush! The carpet in my bedroom hasn't looked or smelled this clean in years. The parquet twister had a bit of learning curve for me - I had to learn to slow down to get it to pick up all the grit and sand completely. And damn, it's quiet! I'm a suckass housekeeper, but this machine has made vacuuming fun!
Congratulations on your success!

from DarknStormies
Wow, first time a page has worked for me, haha. FWIW, I recently bought a Miele Titan for a semi carpeted house with dogs (the main reason I can't have a jet engine in the house, the Miele is the only vacuum she hasn't tried to attack) after going over your ouevre. Congratulations on the vacuum model and Journal bit!

We recently bought a Miele Swing H1 QuickStep. It's been a great vacuum, but, I have a question!
What accessories do you think I should get? The heads are pricey, but I wouldn't mind buying one that would be easy to disassemble and clean out. I'd hate to buy the $200 electric powered brush head, and have it go bad from all the hair.

from Freedom-35
I know this will be be buried, but what the heck. Halloween last year our shitty Hoover died and I just happened to read your AMAs a few weeks before so I took your advice and did a LOT of research. We went with a Miele Twist as it seemed that the uprights were better for houses with almost all carpet and it was the most we could budget for at that moment. I have to say...it kicks total ass.

I too bought a Miele vacuum due to your AMA's. I opted for the Salsa model. I originally went in with the idea of buying a Riccar but the build quality didn't seem as refined as the Miele. I did however like the metal roller brush on the Riccar. Anyway, the Miele Salsa rocks. I have never seen my carpet so agitated and fresh looking.

What accessories do you think I should get? The heads are pricey, but I wouldn't mind buying one that would be easy to disassemble and clean out. I'd hate to buy the $200 electric powered brush head, and have it go bad from all the hair.

I have to thank you for your previous AMAs. I recently puchased a Miele S2121 and I love the thing, especially how quiet it is.

Bought a Miele canister vacuum after your last ama on your suggestion. Best advice ever! How is it that this vacuum is so awesome that everybody doesn't have one??

I bought a Miele Marin shortly after reading one of your previous AMAs. It has drastically cut down on my wife's allergies.

First, thanks so much for all the knowledge you drop. You got me to drop a whopping 900 on a miele a few months back. I was actually thinking about you while vacuuming yesterday and smiling at my godlike power.

Based on your recommendation I recently replaced my 50 year old Electra Tri-Star with a new Miele cannister, it is amazing, the quality, quietness and suction are impressive. I filled the first bag within a month just from what the poor old Tri-Star had left behind. Thank you!

I ordered a Miele S6270 based on your recommendation of the brand. I also picked up a STB 205-3 Turbo Brush. It seems to do ok on the wood floor and carpet.

I bought my first vacuum based on advice from a pro on reddit. Was it you? Ended up with a Miele canister - German made. I think that's what was recommended, right?

I too bought a Miele vacuum due to your AMA's. I opted for the Salsa model. I originally went in with the idea of buying a Riccar but the build quality didn't seem as refined as the Miele. I did however like the metal roller brush on the Riccar. Anyway, the Miele Salsa rocks. I have never seen my carpet so agitated and fresh looking.

Add me to the list! I purchased a Miele C3 Comfort Family vaccuum cleaner today, I now feel like a real grown up

Just thought I'd shoot you a quick update that I ended up going for the Miele S6 Cat & Dog as it's currently on sale.
Now I'm sitting here waiting for it to arrive, and watching videos of people review vacuum cleaners. What is my life?
